Taking the new blog out for a test drive.

Well, I don't have a lot of time to write a the moment, but I wanted to quickly establish a few reasons why I felt the need to create this blog.

1. I wanted to create a forum where I could discuss my interests. I am not expecting much following or critism, but at this point in my career I will welcome it.
2. It seemed like it was a good time to start really organizing my thoughts. A blog seemed like a good way to do it.
3. I am a PhD student, yet I still think that my grammar needs a lot of work. Hopefully here I can just practice writing.
4. Everyone has one. :)
